Founder & Editor
BA History & Italian, University of Oxford · Formerly Hogan Lovells, London · Senior Reporter, Global Arbitration Review
I founded Breaking Lawto bring rigorous, practitioner-focused journalism to the legal profession — written by someone who has sat on both sides of the desk. My background spans transactional law at a global firm and editorial reporting at one of the world's leading specialist legal publications, and it is that combination that informs everything we publish here.
I read History and Italian at the University of Oxford before converting to law. I then joined Hogan Lovells in London, where I practised as a transactional lawyer advising on renewable energy and infrastructure projects — work that gave me a close-up view of how law shapes some of the most consequential commercial decisions of our time.
In 2022 I moved into legal journalism, joining Global Arbitration Review as a Senior Reporter. There I covered the full spectrum of international dispute resolution — from investment treaty arbitration and institutional reform to the careers and strategies of the leading practitioners shaping the field globally. That experience sharpened my conviction that the profession deserves dedicated, well-sourced reporting written with genuine legal understanding.
The Mission of Breaking Law
Breaking Law was founded on the belief that authoritative legal journalism serves a vital public interest. At a time when law touches every corner of modern life — from energy transition and technology regulation to employment rights and constitutional reform — practitioners and the clients they advise need a reliable source that covers developments with the depth and accuracy they deserve.
Our commitment is to cover the stories that matter to the profession: landmark judgments, regulatory shifts, market trends, and the people driving change in the law. We hold ourselves to the highest standards of accuracy and independence. Commercial interests never influence editorial decisions.
Whether you are a partner at a leading firm, a junior barrister, an in-house counsel, or a law student mapping out your career, Breaking Law aims to be your most trusted source for legal news and insight.
